Montepulciano

Montepulciano is a beautifully dark red wine made from the grape of the same name. A thick skinned red grape, Montepulciano origins from the Tuscan hills but is also widely grown in other nearby areas of Italy. Montepulciano d’Abruzzo and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano are often confused, but are not the same wine. Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is not made from Montepulciano, but rather Sangiovese grapes. So Montepulciano d’Abruzzo is more than likely the wine you are looking for.
